She fails to engage in the act of humour, she's more concerned with the state of the ship right now. It's floating aimlessly out in a pocket of EMPTY SPACE thanks to the warp drive being in shambles right now. I mentioned that, right? Yeah, the warp drive is currently in shambles. By that I mean it's destroyed, which is why it's in shambles. Don't look at Sua, it's not her fault! At least, she hopes it isn't. She'd never hear the end of it!
If Sua knows anything, it's that there's nothing in the universe that can't be fixed! That thing will be up and running before she knows it! Besides, it's not like it's a very complicated device. It's just alcubierreiean physics, you know, the lorentzian manifold and all that? It's pretty basic stuff. Everyone knows this junk, so we won't bother spending too much time thinking about it. The warp drive isn't really broken, more like it's working properly now. Which is the issue, we need it to be broken so it can break other things! Like physics. That junk needs to be in pieces for our purposes. Right now it just speeds up to absurdly high values, but that's no good. So since it's working within the laws of physics and working properly, that means it's broken. If Sua had to take a guess about the issue, it's likely the dark energy inside isn't dense enough, so it doesn't have the strength to mess with exotic states of matter.
Identifying the issue is one thing, actually fixing it is a whole other thing entirely!
